Preserve and enjoy the beauty of delicate old
linens with this simple frame-up project.
If
you're searching for quick design inspiration, look no further than your
linen closet. With minimal work, beautiful old napkins (or lovely old
hankies) can be recycled as wall hangings.
Materials:
- Vintage napkins
- Mat board in desired
colors
- Strip frame kits
- Conservation glass
- Cardboard backing
Instructions:
1. Clean
and press napkins if needed. Decide on size of frame needed for napkins,
leaving 1-2 inches of exposed mat as a guide.
2. Cut mat board, glass,
and cardboard backing to desired size. Or, you can have a framer cut the
pieces for you.
3. Center napkins on
mat boards.
4. Assemble frames
according to manufacturer's directions, using cardboard backing of
adequate thickness to hold the napkins in place. |
