Snow Topiaries

Materials:

  • Delta Freshly Fallen Snow
  • Delta Fantasy Snow
  • Delta Sparkle Snow - 3 to 6 jars for each tree
  • Delta Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paint:  White (2505) and Pearl Finish™ (2601)
  • Delta Sobo Glue®
  • (3) 1/2" dowels for tree trunks
  • 1/2" flat bristle brush
  • Small saw or heavy duty cutters
  • (3) foam cones (15" large, 9" small)
  • Palette knife or craft stick
  • Heavy clear vases
  • Iridescent flat back marbles
  • Straight pins
  • Crystal garlands
  • Scissors
  • Beaded trim

Directions:

1.  Cut dowels to desired length (allowing for at least 3" extra to press into foam cone).

2.  Paint dowels with White Ceramcoat. Set aside to dry. (If desired, use hair dryer to speed up the drying process.) Paint dowels with Pearl Finish. Set aside to dry. (If desired, use hair dryer to speed up the drying process.)

3.  Dip end of dowel into Sobo Glue and insert into bottom of foam cone.

4.  Holding tree by dowel, use palette knife to apply desired Snow to cone, spreading into desired thickness and texture. Use one type of snow for each tree. Set aside to dry.

5.  When dry-apply beaded trim at base of small and 1 large tree with Sobo Glue. Let dry

6.  Glue garland to second small tree in an upward spiral position.

7.  Carefully place dowel into glass vase, holding to center in middle. Place marbles in vase around dowel, holding it centered in middle until vase is filled with marbles.

8.  Repeat step 7 to re-insert trees into vases.
