Cutting Directions:
1.
From cotton candy felt, cut one 19-1/4" x 14-1/2" rectangle (for bottom
layer).
2.
From cream felt, cut 1 rectangle that is 1/4" smaller on all sides than
bottom layer (for top layer).
3.
From moss felt, cut one 4", 2", 1-1/2" and 1" x 14-1/4" strips. Repeat
for second mat.
Making Circle Strips:
1. Using fabric
marker, trace two 2-3/4"-diameter circles onto 4" moss strip. Place
first circle 1/2" from top of strip and other 2" below first.
2. Trace one
3/4"-diameter circle onto 1-1/2" strip, approx 4-1/2" from top of strip.
Trace three 1" diameter circles onto 2" strip. Place first circle 1/2"
from top of strip, second 1/2" from bottom of strip and third 1" above
second. Cut out circles.
3. Using all 6
strands of embroidery floss in needle, sew an outline of running
stitches approx 1/8" away from each cutout circle. Repeat for second
mat.
Assembling:
1. Using fabric
glue, adhere 4" strip approx 3/4" in from right edge of cream rectangle.
Adhere 1-1/2" strip 2" in from 4" strip, 1" strip 1" in from 1-1/2"
strip and 2" strip 3" in from 1" strip.
2. Using all 6
strands of embroidery floss in needle, embroider running stitches approx
1/4" to right and left of 4", 1-1/2" and 2" strips, as pictured.
3. Trace one
1-1/2"-diameter circle centered between 2" and 1" strips and approx
3-1/2" from bottom edge of cream rectangle; cut out. Embroider outline
of running stitches 1/8" away from cutout circle.
4. Trace one
2-3/4" diameter circle 3-3/4" from top of cream rectangle and 1/2" in
from left edge. Trace second 2-3/4"-diameter circle 1/4" below first;
cut out circles. Repeat for second mat.
Finishing:
1. Center cream
rectangle on cotton candy rectangle and glue layers together to finish.
2. Repeat for
second mat.
