Materials: (per pillow)
- 1 1/2 yd. Home decorator fabric to wrap
cushions (fabric A)
- 3/4 yd. Home decorator fabric for top and
bottom (fabric B)
- 1 pkg. Large 1/4" Eyelet Kit
- 2 pkgs. Large 1/4" Eyelet Refill
- 1 24" Square of 4" high-density foam
- 7 1/2 yd. Decorative cord
- 1 Heat 'N Bond Ultra Hold tape 7/8" width
- 1 Fabri-Tac permanent adhesive
Tools:
- Scissors
- Iron and ironing board
- Straight pins
- Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
Directions:
1. Center the foam on the
wrong side of fabric A. Wrap two sides (opposite each other) to top,
overlap and glue in place.
2. Making "hospital
corners", wrap the other two sides to top and glue in place. Use
straight pins to hold fabric in place while glue dries.
3. Cut fabric B into two
26 1/2" squares.
4. Following
manufacturer's directions, iron Heat 'N Bond tape along the edges of the
backside of the fabric squares. Remove the paper backing, fold 7/8" edge
down and iron in place. Cut away excess bulk at corners while ironing in
place.
5. Cut small holes 1/2"
in from each corner. Place an eyelet through each hole and attach
backings. Find the centers of each side edge, cut small holes and attach
eyelets. Find the centers between all of the eyelets, cut small holes
then attach eyelets. This process will evenly space the eyelets on each
side.
6. Cut the decorative
cord in half. Glue the end of one piece onto the backside of the fabric
at the edge. Repeat with the other cord and fabric square. Allow time
for the glue to dry.
7. Place one square on
top of wrapped cushion and the other square on the opposite side. Put
the cord through the eyelets, alternating top, then bottom, and
threading it through like lacing shoes. Complete by gluing the ends on
the backside where the beginning end of the cord is attached.
