These fun and feathery trees are an easy way to jazz up your holiday decorating!

Materials:

  • Plastic cone (available in 24" or 36" heights)
  • Feather boas (3-4 for 24" tree, 5-6 for 36" tree)
  • Glass ball ornaments or florals to decorate trees
  • Hot glue & glue gun
  • Wire cutters

Directions for constructing a tree:

  1. Glue feather boas to cone, working in a spiral from bottom to top.

Directions for decorating with glass ball ornaments:

  1. Each glass bulb has a metal cap and a wire clip protruding. For the bulb on top of tree, remove cap and clip, then glue bulb to point, holding securely until glue is cool. For all other bulbs, hold the cap securely and pull out the clip; discard. Remove the cap, put a spot of hot glue on the outside opening of the glass bulb & slip cap back on.

  2. Hot glue each bulb on tree at metal cap; hold in place until glue is cool.

Directions for decorating with florals:

  1. Clip flowers off stems. Glue onto tree, spacing as desired.
(TIP: Poinsettias are layers of petals with spacers between. For a less bulky flower, clip through the bottom layers, removing the spacers. Glue onto tree, reassembling the layers as you go, but without the bulky spacers.)

  2. Top of tree: Glue cluster of flowers together, then glue to top of tree.

  3. Trim leaves from leftover stems and tuck under flowers where desired. Glue in place.
