Intense colors need relief to be even more
dramatic. What does that mean? If a wall is a bright or deep color it
can feel overwhelming as the eye of the viewer is saturated.
The walls of rooms have come to life in
many houses through the use of more color than ever before. Not only
contemporary homes feature intense colors, Victorians can use a little
vitality, and colonials look more authentic by adding daring hues.
Intriguing names such as such as….Maroon and Deep Blue are being used in
kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms.
With this single color palette framed or
wall art can get lost and be overwhelmed. Too much art can resemble the
Centennial show in Paris of 1886 – jammed together every which
way.
If you have an intense or deep color on a
wall you can find ways to feature art that complements the look.
Try these:
-
Use wide
mats on all artwork being displayed.
-
Use
frames in gold and silver or even white in order to bring light to
the piece.
-
Allow
large amounts of space between each piece or
-
Cluster
pieces in groups to create a mass.
Enjoy the color and the art that you love
at the same time.
